  Question? Do you know of any “statutory rape”, or “Child Molestation” cases handled as “Consensual sex “(fornication) by Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Judicial Committees?

  i was talking about this with the mrs., and we can recount at least half dozen cases in the last 20 years of adult j.w.

  men having sex with teenage boys or girls.

  not only were the police not informed, but also the victim was treated as a guilty party in fornication.

  Yes, a 25 yo Bible study had sex with a 15 yo one time and confessed to the Elders. The elders did nothing to the perp except ignore him at the meetings. The girl, who was a cutter and had depression issues, was removed as a publisher and there was a marking talk. She was treated as though she responsible for the whole incident. Also the circuit overseer told the Elders to not report it to the police.

  She ended up in the mental hospital several times and was unable to finish highschool. On the bright side, it was the first step out the door of JWs for the girl. She is doing well and will never go back to the cult. Oh yeah, she is getting her GED and going to go to University to be a therapist.

  not sure if many remember me, but i wanted to drop in to wish everyone a very merry christmas and happy new year.

  you might recall i disassociated in 2008 after ten long years as a jw.

  it destroyed my marriage, but my ex-wife soon left on her own and we remain as good friends.

  I hear you FSP, it would be expensive sending all the cards at international rates. Maybe we will be lucky and get the cards this year that we didn't get last year.

  I thought about the secret Santa but didn't join it in time. Maybe next year.

  Would it be theocratic warfare if I hung some of the cards and didn't tell my husband they are from last year?

  I still have all my cards from last year Though I never received any from the British people I sent to... must have been a glitch in the postal service I guess.

  My husband was surprised by all the cards and I know it was a good anti-witness to him.

  Count me in for this year!!

  Putting up my "midwinter pagan festival blinken light tree" - I got's questions

  when i was little (before jwism) we celebrated christmas.

  my parents got the "truth" then we no longer celebrated it.

  we used to get together with family and friends and it was great!

  Our first tree was a 4 foot white tree from a discount store. We strung a few pink lights, hung a couple dozen silver ornaments, and used pink and white ribbons for garland. We found a pink snowman topper at a dollar store. It was the most amazing tree ever. EVER!!

  We didn't leave it up long because my JW husband was visiting his family and we had it down before he returned. That was five years ago and we now have 2 trees that stay up for the whole season. After many arguements and tears,we have a peace treaty, I say nothing bad about his Witness activities and he tolerates our having some holiday decorations and joins in the meals and the fun that isn't directly holiday connected. So far,it works.

  I meant a Watchtower on internet porn lol. I seriously remember a thread dedicated to that picture. People were commenting on the woman in the background and what the man must be looking at, lots of one liners. Maybe a year or two ago?

  There isn't anything to identify who did the picture in the image info.

  BOTR- I love your posts. You add a lot to the forum. I think maybe my life is the flip side of yours. I did all the "right" things, skipped the longed for education and career and settled on the marriage to a "mature" brother ... didn't escape till too late for so much that I still long for.

  Thank you for your posts, they are always interesting and I love your enthusiasm for life.
